«Caribbean Airlines has been a consistent partner with Guyana and the Guyanese diaspora. Hence it is logical that we mobilize resources to support the expanding business activity in Guyana. This new operation will provide direct connectivity between Guyana and Houston. This one is the base for many of the world’s largest oil companies. Another advantage is that customers also have the option of connecting to Port of Spain for business and pleasure,» said Garvin Medera, CEO of Caribbean Airlines.
In 2020, Caribbean Airlines obtained approval from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DoT) to operate scheduled flights to Houston – Intercontinental (IAH). However, due to the arrival of COVID-19 pandemic and sanitary restrictions, the company could not start this destination.
With this new destination in Texas, the airline will have six destinations in North America including Miami (MIA), Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Orlando (MCO), New York (JFK), Toronto – Pearson (YYZ), and soon Houston (IAH).
