After an absence of almost two years, Edelweiss returns again to the United States. On March 2, the airline resumes operations between Zurich (ZRH) and Tampa (TPA) twice a week (Wednesday and Friday).

- SWR5 TPA 19:45 – ZRH 10:45+
The flights will be operated in Airbus A340-300 aircraft with a capacity of 314 seats in three classes (27 Business Class/76 Economy Plus/211 Economy).

Data obtained by Aviacionline through the U.S. Department of Transportation (DoT), in 2019 Zurich (ZRH) was the 4th top European destination from Tampa International Airport (TPA) where 29,556 passengers were mobilized.
Lufthansa Group continues to expand its leisure offer from the state of Florida, in December 2021 the new subsidiary Eurowings Discover started flights between Frankfurt (FRA) and Tampa (TPA) with four flights a week in Airbus A330-300 with capacity of 283 seats.
The German carrier will be the leading long-haul operator at Tampa Airport (TPA) with the highest number of seats offered, frequencies and destinations during the 2022 northern summer season.
Edelweiss plans to relaunch four destinations in North America including: Las Vegas (LAS) starting April 1, Denver (DEN) begins June 13, Vancouver (YVR) begins May 15 and Calgary starting June 5.
