Air France’s regional subsidiary HOP! will retire its fourteen Bombardier CRJ 1000s over the course of 2022, with the last operation of the model in December.

This comes after Jetcraft Commercial Limited, the business jet division of global aircraft trading firm Jetcraft, acquired the entire CRJ 1000 fleet from HOP!

The aircraft will be delivered to Jetcraft between March and December 2022.

«This is a significant acquisition for Jetcraft Commercial and I am proud that three of these aircraft are ready to be placed. There is strong demand for the remaining aircraft, which emphasizes the need within business aviation for aircraft capable of performing regional missions,» commented Raphaël Haddad, president of Jetcraft Commercial.

Jetcraft Commercial will offer these aircraft to other commercial operators around the world. The company mentioned that three aircraft already have new owners, although without confirming the customer.

With this decision, HOP!’s fleet will consist entirely of Embraer aircraft, with fifteen E170s and nineteen E190s, for Air France’s domestic and regional routes.

The CRJ 1000s, with a capacity of 100 seats, were inherited after the merger of Regional, Britair, and Alinair into HOP! They had the same functions as the Embraer, but in order to reduce costs, it was decided to simplify its fleet to a single manufacturer.

Currently, apart from HOP!, Air Nostrum is the largest operator of the model with 24 aircraft. They are followed by Garuda Indonesia (18), Mel Air (3), Hibernian Airlines (3), and Arik Air (1).
