Air Europa returns to Tunis and Marrakech
The Spanish airline returns to connect the peninsula with the Northern part of Africa with two weekly frequencies. Flights to Tunis and Marrakech will resume next Sunday, April 10th from Madrid, after their suspension due to the restrictions caused by the pandemic.
A statement issued by Globalia, Air Europa’s parent company, assures that «the reopening of both routes by the airline is part of the growth plan activated by the company, which foresees adapting the activity to the needs of the market and the demand, and progressively recovering full operability».
As the airline industry continues to recover from one of the biggest crises in its global history, Air Europa announces the resumption of these flights connecting the capital of Spain with the capital of Tunisia and the main destination in Morocco.
The flights will be operated by Embraer 190 and Boeing 737 single-aisle aircraft and will depart from Alfonso Suarez Madrid-Barajas Airport on Sundays and Thursdays, while they will return from North Africa on Mondays and Fridays.
The company also stated that «both routes, whose operations began in 2017 in Marrakech and 2019 in Tunis, have always performed well before the outbreak of the pandemic, and are expected to maintain the same evolutionary line. In fact, Air Europa is offering passengers more than 32,500 seats to North Africa this year and is forecasting an average occupancy rate of around 75% over the next few months».
From the Madrid hub, passengers will be able to connect to more than 60 domestic, European and international destinations operated by Air Europa, with a significant presence in Latin America.
