Air France will offer close to 200 destinations during the northern summer and returns to an almost pre-pandemic operations level

Air France strengthens its operations for the 2022 boreal summer season where it will offer up to 196 destinations with a schedule representing 90% of the capacity deployed in 2019.

Increased offer on long-haul flights

North America

Air France continues to strengthen its operations in the United States, the company’s main intercontinental market. This summer will offer nearly 200 weekly flights to 14 destinations, 20% higher than the 2019 offering. On March 27, the airline reinstated its service between New York (JFK) and Paris – Orly (ORY), in addition to its operation from Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), in total 7 daily flights will be offered between the two cities.

Air France and Delta Airlines will offer for the first time a shuttle schedule between Paris – Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and New York (JFK) with 8 daily flights (6 Air France flights and 2 Delta Airlines flights), in addition to the resumption of services to Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) and Denver (DEN), the latter restarting on May 4.

During this summer, the French airline will be the leading foreign carrier to offer increased capacity between Europe and Canada, increasing its offer 25% higher than 2019 levels and introducing of a new service to Quebec (YQB) from May 17, 2022.

Africa

Air France will return to its pre-COVID-19 levels in the region by increasing frequencies to a number of destinations. Abidjan (Ivory Coast) will have twice daily flights from Paris – Charles De Gaulle (CDG) and seasonal services to Zanzibar (Tanzania) and Banjul (Gambia) will be extended throughout the summer.

Asia

Due to health and airspace restrictions in Russia, most destinations will have reduced operations. Scheduling to Delhi (DEL), Mumbai (BOM), Bangalore (BLR), and Chennai (MAA) will gradually increase due to the opening of borders in India.

Strong leisure demand in the short- and medium-haul sector

The short-haul and medium-haul network will focus this summer on leisure destinations, with the carrier adding 23 additional destinations from Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) including three new destinations to Zakynthos (Greece), Tirana (Albania), and Tenerife (Spain).

From Paris – to Orly (ORY) new connections will be offered throughout the summer to Algiers (Algeria) with three daily flights (subject to the reopening of the country) and Tunisia with one daily flight from May 29. Connections to Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca (Spain), and Bari (Italy), offered in 2021, will return with additional frequencies.

The domestic network will be offered 47 summer connections from French regions, plus several international services will be introduced from other secondary cities including:

  • Marseille – Santorini starting July 8.
  • Marseille – Tunis starting July 9
  • Nice – Heraklion as of July 8
  • Nice – London Heathrow from July 9.

From Corsica will be served throughout the year from the following destinations: Bordeaux, Caen, Clermont-Ferrand, Lille, Lyon, Nantes, Paris – Charles De Gaulle, Paris – Orly, Pau, Rennes, and Strasbourg.

Transavia will operate the domestic network from Paris – Orly to Brest, Biarritz, Montpellier, Perpignan, Pau and Toulon.
