In line with the relaxation of travel restrictions worldwide, Emirates continues to rebuild and expand its pre-pandemic global network: the airline confirmed that it will resume flights to Buenos Aires/Ezeiza (EZE), Argentina; and Rio de Janeiro (GIG), Brazil, as of November 2.
The airline will resume its triangular service connecting Dubai (DXB), Buenos Aires/Ezeiza, and Rio de Janeiro. It will initially operate four weekly Boeing 777-300ER flights starting November 2, 2022. As of February 1, 2023, Emirates will expand operations to one daily service, returning to pre-covid operating levels.
Flight EK 247 will depart from Dubai at 08:05, arriving in Rio de Janeiro at 15:25. At 17:10 it will continue its ft to Buenos Aires, with an estimated time of arrival at 20:40.
In the opposite direction, flight EK 248 will depart from Ezeiza at 22:20 arriving in Rio at 01:10 the following day. It will begin the leg to Dubai at 02:55, arriving in the Emirati capital at 23:55 the same day.
Emirates is one of the preferred airlines for travelers from Argentina to connect to popular business and leisure destinations in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. Currently, only Ethiopian Airlines and Turkish Airlines had been monopolizing this demand in Argentina.
The company landed in Buenos Aires in 2012, and according to data obtained by ANAC Argentina, between that year and 2020, it moved 1,336,734 passengers, from which 316,281 travelers flew the regional leg heading onto Rio de Janeiro.
