Avion Express, a European ACMI (aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance) operator and member of the global aviation services group Avia Solutions Group, announced the continuation of its partnership with Sky Cana, an airline based in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

The companies have been partners for a number of years and have now signed a wet-leasing agreement for three Airbus A321ceo and one A320ceo. According to the contract, the four aircraft will operate with the Dominican company for a period of one year, between April 2022 and March 2023.

Sky Cana uses the ACMI format for its operations offering transfer, cargo, overflight and tour services to destinations in the United States, Nicaragua, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Colombia and Cuba.

They are currently operating three A321ceo with registration 9H-AMD «Go Puerto Plata», 9H-AME «Go Samana» and 9H-AMH «Go Punta Cana». It recently returned its only Airbus A320ceo to Europe, which had the «Go Santo Domingo» decal.

Frank Diaz, CEO of Sky Cana, said, «We are delighted to continue our commercial partnership with Avion Express. We are excited to move forward and have great teams working hard to help us do so.»

«We are very pleased to expand and continue our cooperation with Sky Cana. Our partnership has been tested by the pandemic and we believe it will be strengthened in the future. We are proud of the teams of both airlines and the work done to initiate and continue this operation,» said Dainius Staniulis, commercial vice president of Avion Express, for his part.

Over the years, Avion Express has established itself as a leading narrow-body charter and ACMI operator with a fleet of Airbus A320 family aircraft, working with customers in Europe, Africa, Asia-Pacific and South America. To strengthen its market position, in 2019 Avion Express established Avion Express Malta, a subsidiary airline based in Malta.
