Last Sunday (May 15), Edelweiss resumed operations to Canada after a suspension of two consecutive summers. Flight LX 10 took off from Zurich Airport (ZRH) at 13:41 local time and landed in Vancouver (YVR) at 15:41.
The leisure airline will fly to British Columbia’s main city once a week during the month of May, starting in July it will increase the operation to three times a week, on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Vancouver is the third North American route to be resumed by Edelweiss for the summer season, the company plans to start flights to Calgary (YYC) on June 12 with a weekly flight and will be the only non-stop connection between the Province of Alberta and Switzerland.

- Vancouver – Zurich Flight LX 11 YVR 16:25 – ZRH 11:30+1
The flights will be operated on Airbus A340-300 aircraft with 314 seats in three classes (27 Business Class/76 Economy max/211 Economy). Operations will be available until September 25.
Currently, the leisure airline also offers flights to Tampa (TPA) and Las Vegas (LAS) from the United States and by June 13 will begin service to Denver (DEN) to complement its North American offering for the summer season with a 12-flight per week operation between Canada and the US.

Edelweiss is part of the Lufthansa Group, together with its partner Air Canada are part of a transatlantic Joint Venture, with this alliance both companies offer more flights between Canada and Switzerland than any other airline operator.
