Embraer has selected Fokker Services, based in the Netherlands, as the engine maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) provider for customers enrolled in the Pool program.

Through this agreement, Fokker will oversee the support of the engines of the first-generation E-Jets: E170, E175, E190, and E195. The agreement includes more than 60 LRUs (parts that can be replaced at the operating line without major maintenance).

«At Embraer, we are always looking for ways to improve the Pool program, and Fokker Services, with its expertise, presented the most complete and attractive proposal for the E-Jets fleet. We are convinced that it is the best option to further enhance our services, so we are pleased to welcome it on board,» said Johann Bordais, President and CEO of Embraer Services & Support.

Menzo van der Beek, Managing Director of Fokker Services, added: «This agreement is a great step forward. The combination of our expertise and the quality required by the Pool program is great. As we grow our partnership with Embraer, we will continue to expand our capabilities to support their equipment.»

The agreement is the first ramification of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in October 2021. Discussion on other projects is still underway.

The LRUs will be repaired at Fokker Services’ facilities. State-of-the-art equipment will be used for the process, such as dual-wire electric arc sprayers and an eddy current dynamometer test bench.

Fokker Services will thus add to its capabilities to work on the CF34 engines of the E-Jet. The company already works on the CFM56 and CFM LEAP, used on most versions of the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 families.
