IAG Cargo, the cargo subsidiary of International Airlines Group, has increased its operations from Spain to the United States, now exceeding 120 weekly connections. This represents a 40% increase in operations since March.
The recently announced schedule offers regular connectivity between Madrid and Los Angeles, Boston, and Chicago, with flights to Miami and New York operating twice daily. Services will be operated on Iberia’s Airbus A330 aircraft.
IAG Cargo’s Madrid hub is an important gateway for exporters and importers around the world, with more than 250,000 tons of cargo moving through the hub each year.
Increased capacity between Spain and the United States speeds the movement of high-demand commodities, including fish from the Canary Islands shipped via Madrid to U.S. consumers, asparagus from Los Angeles to Spain and Europe, as well as critical biomedical supplies, automotive and aircraft parts, textiles, and fashion accessories.
The increased service between Spain and the United States expands beyond Madrid as, for the first time since the pandemic, IAG Cargo has also resumed operations between Boston and Barcelona. This service offers three flights a week and is operated by Airbus A330-200 aircraft providing a cargo capacity of twenty tons.
