TAAG Angola and Iberia sign code-share and interline agreement

TAAG Linhas Aereas de Angola signed a codeshare and interline agreement with Iberia after presenting its route between Luanda (LAD) and Madrid (MAD), which will begin on June 27. This agreement opens up a dozen new markets in southern Africa for Spain.

For TAAG, Madrid becomes the tenth international destination from Luanda, in addition to Johannesburg (JNB) and Cape Town (CPT) in South Africa; Windhoek (WDH) in Namibia; Maputo (MPM) in Mozambique; Kinshasa (FIH) in DR Congo; Lagos (LOS) in Nigeria and São Tomé (TMS) in São Tomé and Príncipe operated on Boeing 737-700s.

In addition, TAAG flies to Lisbon (LIS) in Portugal and São Paulo (GRU) in Brazil with Boeing 777-200ER/-300ER.

Its domestic destinations are Cabinda, Catumbela, Dundo, Huambo, Kuito, Lubango, Luena, Menongue, Namibe, Ondjiva, Saurimo and Uige (with DHC 8-400).

In 2019, it mobilized 1,490,277 passengers with an average occupancy rate of 48%, a growth of 7.35% over the previous year.

The airline stated that; «this partnership demonstrates a recovery in the aviation sector after the severe impact of the pandemic.» «As one of the most resilient airlines, [TAAG] is forging key partnerships that maximize growth opportunities.»

Moreover, TAAG would benefit from Iberia’s Madrid network with connections to Europe, Latin America and North America, reaching more than 100 destinations in 43 countries.

TAAG Schedules and Frequencies to Spain

Flights will be operated on Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with a configuration of 12 seats in first class, 56 seats in business and 225 seats in economy.
