Sky High - Embraer 190

Sky High Aviation Services Dominicana took delivery of its second Embraer 190, which will allow it to increase the supply of seats at its destinations and land in the United States.

The Embraer is registered P4-KCI and will join the P4-KCK received in May, both of which were operated by Air Astana. Sky High expects to receive two more before the end of the year. They are configured with 9 seats in executive and 88 in economy.

The P4-KCI flew from Poland, where maintenance and painting was completed, with stops in Reykjavik-Keflavik, Iceland, and Halifax, Canada.

At the same time, Embraer announced that it has signed a maintenance services agreement with Sky High Aviation Services Dominicana. The contract provides access to the Pool Program, which includes component exchanges and repair services for more than 340 repairable parts and interchangeable parts for its E190s.

«This service agreement with Embraer is important to Sky High Aviation’s operational success, as it gives us immediate access to spare parts inventory, which is efficiently managed and reduces our capex (capital expenditure) requirement for the initial provision of spare parts,» said Juan Chamizo, owner and president of Sky High Aviation.

The Brazilian manufacturer notes that Sky High Aviation brings E190 operations back to the Caribbean. Sky High also operates a fleet of two 50-seat Embraer ERJ 145s (HI-1056 and HI-1052).

«The Pool Program will provide the most efficient and reliable solution for Sky High Aviation’s fleet. Having their two E190 jets covered by our Pool Program demonstrates Sky High Aviation’s confidence in Embraer’s products and services. Our main objective is to support aircraft operation and maintain fleet availability,» said Danielle Vardaro, Embraer’s Vice President, Global Customer Care and Aftermarket Sales, Commercial Aviation, Services and Support.
