After 13 years, Spirit Airlines resumes operations to San Antonio (SAT) beginning November 17, 2022 with two new nonstop services to Orlando (MCO) and Las Vegas (LAS). Both operated with daily flights, these new routes are geared toward leisure passenger traffic.
«Our low fares and daily flights make it easy and more accessible for San Antonio families to discover these two world-class entertainment destinations. We are also pleased to offer our existing guests affordable access to the Alamo City to experience the attractions, rich history and vibrant culture that have earned it a top vacation destination ranking in Texas,» said John Kirby, Spirit Airlines’ vice president of network planning.
San Antonio (SAT) is the low-cost carrier’s fourth destination in Texas, in addition to its operations in Austin (AUS), Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) and Houston – Intercontinental (IAH). Spirit sees a great opportunity in Texas by adding new international destinations, more flights and increasing its seat capacity.
The Miramar-based company recently announced its new aircraft facility at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH). The maintenance complex includes two aircraft bays and ramp space for up to four aircraft, plus warehouse, retail and office space.

They can enjoy the sites and sounds of Las Vegas and have a fun time enjoying all that Orlando has to offer. Plus, more people in Florida and Nevada can come and see how special San Antonio is, with cheaper fares that are too good to pass up. It’s a win-win because it makes travel to far-flung destinations more affordable,» said Jesus H. Saenz, Director of Airports for the San Antonio Airport System.
