Starting October 30, Aeromexico will resume operations between Mexico City (MEX) and Havana, Cuba (HAV) with daily flights offering almost 10,000 seats per month. The company’s last operation on this route was March 29, 2020.

According to data compiled by Aviacionline in 2019 between Mexico City (MEX) and Havana (HAV) 468,884 passengers and 765.65 tons of cargo were mobilized in 3,158 air operations, it was the main route between the Aztec country and the Caribbean.

Ticket sales will be available for this weekend. With the resumption of this service, the company strengthens its operation in the Caribbean, completing the route to Santo Domingo (SDQ) operated by its subsidiary Aeromexico Connect with daily flights operated by Embraer E190, raising its offer in the region to 15,500 seats per month in 120 air operations.
The eagle knight airline began operating in Cuba since 2011, stopped its operation in Havana (HAV) because of the COVID-19 pandemic and sanitary restrictions. For this boreal winter, Aeromexico will be the third Mexican operator to offer flights between the Aztec country and the Caribbean island, where it will compete with Aeromar and Viva Aerobus.
According to AFAC statistics for the first semester of 2022 between Mexico and Cuba, 85,221 passengers have been mobilized with an occupancy factor of 50.1% in 894 flights, which represents an increase of 1,070.3% with respect to the same period last year.
