Russian Helicopters, Holding Company of Rostec State Corporation, demonstrated a new universal unmanned aerial system of helicopter type, the BAS-750.

Rostec reports that the new BAS-750, presented to the public for the first time during this year’s Army-2022 military and technical forum, is capable of carrying a payload of 200kg and can transmit information to the operator at a distance of up to 150 km. The design provides for the installation of additional fuel tanks to increase flight time.

«BAS-750 is the «big brother» of the BAS-200 drone. It continues the line of multifunctional unmanned systems capable of solving a large list of tasks. These include search operations, geodesy, mapping, monitoring of agricultural land, roads, water bodies, oil and gas infrastructure, power supply lines, communications and pipelines, as well as cargo transportation. The drone is able to deliver cargoes weighing up to 200 kilograms at 180 km/h by air,» said Oleg Yevtushenko, Rostec’s executive director.

The new helicopter-like drone is capable of ascending to an altitude of up to 3,500 meters and, combined with its high payload capacity and long non-stop flight time, give the BAS-750 system considerable versatility.

«In their typical configuration, rotary-wing drones are equipped with an optronic system, five day and night vision cameras and the ability to return to the starting point even in the absence of satellite navigation data,» said Oleg Gulyaev, first deputy general director of the Russian Helicopters holding company.

The BAS-750 seems to be a good starting point for developing an embarked naval version of it, which can perform search and rescue missions, fishery control, and military missions of reconnaissance, beyond-the-horizon detection, attack and even assistance to anti-submarine warfare.
