Spirit Airlines will resume scheduled flights between Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and Managua (MGA) on 30 November, marking its return to Nicaragua after more than 30 months since the outbreak of the pandemic.
The ultra low-cost carrier will operate a daily flight between the two cities, offering connections to 26 cities via Fort Lauderdale: Aguadilla, Atlanta, Atlantic City, Baltimore, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago-ORD, Cleveland, Dallas-DFW, Detroit, Houston-IAH, Indianapolis, New York-LGA, Latrobe, Louisville, Myrtle Beach, Nashville, Newark, Orlando, Philadephia, Richmond, San Juan, St. Thomas, St. Louis and Tampa. This will bring back a key level of connectivity between Nicaragua and the United States for tourists and business people as well as those visiting family and friends.

With Managua, Spirit Airlines now serves 29 markets in Latin America and the Caribbean. By November, according to information obtained by Aviacionline through Cirium, Spirit will have a weekly offer of 171,554 seats on 947 flights to and from the region.
Flight NK 435 will depart Fort Lauderdale at 11:45 PM to arrive in Managua at 1:23 AM the following day, after a 2-hour 38-minute flight. The return flight as NK 434 will be at 2:30 AM, arriving in the U.S. city at 6:00 AM. Flights will be made on Airbus A321 aircraft seating 228 passengers.
Spirit’s announcement comes days after American Airlines also announced its post-pandemic return to Managua, scheduled for 30 November.
