Aircraft manufacturer Embraer and training and solutions provider FlightSafety International announced today that they will offer a new full-flight simulator (FFS) for the Praetor 500 and 600 business jets produced by the Brazilian company.

According to Embraer in a press release, the joint initiative aims to meet the growing demand for training platforms for this type of aircraft. It will be the third one manufactured by FlightSafety International for both models and will be located in Orlando, Florida. It is expected to be fully operational during the second quarter of 2023.

The simulator will be approximately one hour from Embraer Executive Jets’ headquarters in Melbourne, Florida. According to the manufacturer, the region was chosen mainly due to the high concentration of operators and aircraft. They also took into account its accessibility and the extensive network of available accommodations and attractions.

“With Praetor jet deliveries increasing consistently, we have realized the need to offer additional capacity for training to our customers worldwide”, said Johann Bordais, President and CEO of Embraer Services & Support. “The new full-flight simulator will provide Embraer’s customers with the latest technological aircraft updates, bringing the highest level of service to the market”, he assured.

“FlightSafety is pleased to offer expanded capacity at a customer-centric location for the growing fleet of Praetor operators”, commented Nate Speiser, the company’s Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “FlightSafety has trained over five thousand Praetor pilots since partnering with Embraer on this aircraft in 2015”, he noted.

The Praetor is the longest-range midsize business jet on the market. The Praetor 500 has a range of up to 3.340 nautical miles (6.186 kilometres). For its part, the Praetor 600 offers a range of up to 4.018 nautical miles (7.441 kilometres). They are also the only aircraft in their class with full fly-by-wire flight controls.
