ZIPAIR Tokyo continues to strengthen its presence on the West Coast of the United States, increasing its operations between Tokyo/Narita (NRT) and San Jose, California (SJC) between January 11 and March 25. This will allow the low-cost carrier to offer more convenient travel options to San Francisco Bay Area travelers.
According to data obtained by Aviacionline through the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) in 2019 between the Japanese capital and the International Airport Norman Y. Mineta International Airport (SJC) 92,518 passengers were mobilized.
Flight Itinerary
- Tokyo/Narita – San Jose, CA Flight ZG 30 NRT 16:00 – SJC 08:10 Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
- San Jose, CA – Tokyo/Narita Flight ZG 29 SJC 10:10 – NRT+1 Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
The route will be operated on Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft with a capacity of 290 seats in two classes (18 ZIP Full-Flat/272 Economy) and promotional fares are available from USD 169 each way, tickets can be purchased through the company’s website.

- The service will start on December 12, 2022, with three weekly flights initially.
- As of March 12, the itinerary of flight ZG 29 is modified, the service departs SJC at 09:10 and lands at NRT at 11:10 the following day.
- ZIPAIR is the only long-haul low-cost carrier operating between Asia and the San Francisco Bay Area.
According to data obtained through Cirium for the winter boreal winter season, ZIPAIR Tokyo will have a 19,140-seat offering per week, the airline will serve Los Angeles (LAX), San Jose, CA (SJO), Honolulu (HNL), Singapore (SIN), Bangkok (BKK) and Seoul – Incheon (ICN).
Japan Airlines, ZIPAIR’s sister carrier, currently offers non-stop service from Narita (NRT) and Haneda (HND) to San Francisco (SFO) with eleven weekly flights and has a weekly seat offering of 5,102 seats.
