    On October 30 Air Canada resumed operations to Peru with the restart of the route between Montreal (YUL) and Lima (LIM), after a 32-month suspension caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The company’s last operation in the Peruvian capital was on March 22, 2020.

    According to data compiled by Aviacionline through Cirium, the Canadian flag carrier will offer 2,376 weekly seats to Peru in December, representing a 60% recovery of the previous capacity offered to pre-pandemic levels.

    Flight AC 86 was operated in a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner registered with the registration C-GHPX, which took off from Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL) at 17:56 local time and landed at Jorge Chavez International Airport (LIM) at 00:24 the following day, after seven hours and 29 minutes. On November 1, the company also resumed operations between Toronto (YYZ) and the Peruvian capital.

    According to data obtained by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC), Air Canada mobilized 173,099 passengers in Peru and was the fourth largest North American airline operator in the Inca country.

    Montreal (YUL) – Lima (LIM)
    • Montreal – Lima Flight AC 86 YUL 16:50 – LIM 01:45+1 Sunday.
    • Lima – Montreal Flight AC 87 LIM 03:30 – YUL 11:55 Monday.

    Flights will be operated on Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft with a capacity of 255 seats in three classes.

    Toronto (YYZ) – Lima (LIM)
    • Toronto – Lima Flight AC 88 YYZ 17:15 – LIM 01:45+1 Tuesday and Friday.
    • Lima – Toronto Flight AC 89 LIM 03:30 – YYZ 11:45 Wednesday and Saturday.

    Flights will be operated on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft with a capacity of 298 seats in three classes.

    Service details
    • Both routes will operate throughout the year
    • Starting December 4, the Montreal – Lima service will increase twice weekly, with an extra service on Wednesdays.
    • As of December, all the company’s services to Peru will be operated on Airbus A330-300 aircraft with a capacity of 297 seats in three classes (32 Business Class/21 Premium Economy/244 Economy).
    • Lima is the carrier’s fifth destination in South America.

    • Sao Paulo (GRU): six times a week on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
    • Bogota (BOG): three times weekly on Airbus A330-300.
    • Lima (LIM): twice weekly on Airbus A330-300.
    • Buenos Aires (EZE): six times a week via GRU.
