Air India increases its flights to Europe from Delhi and Mumbai

Air India expands its global network with the launch of new services to Frankfurt (FRA) and Paris (CDG) from Mumbai (BOM) and the resumption of routes from Delhi (DEL) to Milan (MXP), Vienna (VIE) and Copenhagen (CPH). The company’s last operations in Italy, Austria and Scandinavia were in March 2020.

The company continues to expand as it takes delivery of more aircraft under lease agreements and reactivates stored aircraft. Recently, the airline announced an increase in operations to the United Kingdom.

Milan – Malpensa (MXP)

Starts from February 1, 2023.

  • Delhi – Milan Flight AI 137 DEL 14:20 – MXP 18:30 Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
  • Milan – Delhi Flight AI 138 MXP 20:00 – DEL 08:00+1 Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
Vienna (VIE)

Starts from February 18, 2023.

  • Delhi – Vienna Flight AI 153 DEL 14:35 – VIE 18:45 Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
  • Vienna – Delhi Flight AI 154 VIE 20:15 – DEL 08:05+1 Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Copenhagen (CPH)

Starts from March 1, 2023.

  • Delhi – Copenhagen Flight AI 157 DEL 13:30 – CPH 17:50 Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
  • Copenhagen – Delhi Flight AI 158 CPH 19:50 – DEL 07:40+1 Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

All routes will be operated on Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft with 256 seats in two classes (18 Business Class/238 Economy) and tickets for these services are now available for sale through the airline’s website and regular channels.

From Mumbai (BOM), Air India has planned new services to Paris (CDG) with three flights per week and Frankfurt (FRA) with 4 flights per week, these routes will soon go on sale and will commence by the first quarter of 2023. These new European operations from BOM will complement the company’s 12 weekly flights to London Heathrow (LHR), offering a total of three destinations in the Old Continent from its secondary hub.

According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Cirium, Air India will have 36,352 flights between India and the Old Continent by March 2023, in addition to offering 48 flights a week to the United Kingdom and 31 weekly operations in Continental Europe. This represents a capacity recovery of 86.9% when compared to pre-pandemic levels.

Air India Europa

Currently, the airline has non-stop flights to London – Heathrow (LHR), Frankfurt (FRA), Paris (CDG), Birmingham (BHX) and soon to Milan (MXP), Vienna (VIE) and Copenhagen (CPH). Air India still has suspended operations to Madrid (MAD), Stockholm – Arlanda (ARN), London – Stansted (STN) and Rome – Fiumicino (FCO).
