On October 31 United resumed its operations between Newark (EWR) and Lima (LIM), after a 32-month suspension caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The company’s last operation on this route was March 24, 2020.
According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Cirium, United will have an offer of 5,362 weekly seats between the United States and Peru for this austral summer. The airline will be the third largest carrier in this segment in terms of seats per seat kilometers offered (ASK), behind only LATAM and American.
Flight UA 886, operated in a Boeing 757 registered under registration number N13138, took off from Newark Airport (EWR) at 15:48 local time and landed at Jorge Chavez International Airport (LIM) at 22:26, after seven hours and 39 minutes.
The return of this service complements the airline’s daily operations between the Peruvian capital and Houston – Intercontinental (IAH) in Boeing 767-300ER with a capacity of 214 seats. According to data obtained by Aviacionline through the Dirección General de Aviación Civil (DGAC), United mobilized 96,850 passengers between the United States and Peru in the period January – August 2022.

The route will be operated on Boeing 757-200 aircraft with 169 seats in three classes (16 Business Class/45 Economy Plus/108 Economy) and promotional fares are available from USD 912 round trip. In addition, as of December 9, 2022, this service increases to daily flights, restoring the capacity offered prior to the pandemic.
According to DGAC data, New York is the third busiest destination from the Peruvian capital to the United States, behind only Miami (MIA) and Fort Lauderdale (FLL), where 103,254 passengers have flown. United will compete in this sector with LATAM, which offers daily flights on Boeing 767 and 787.
United will offer three destinations in South America from Newark (EWR) where it will have an offer of 8,569 weekly seats, this represents a 94.9% recovery of its capacity compared to 2019 levels.
