GlobalX adds a new Airbus A320 and continues to expand its fleet
Global Crossing Airlines, known as GlobalX, continues to add aircraft to its fleet.
In the middle of last week, the airline signed a letter of intent (LOI) for the addition of its tenth passenger aircraft, an Airbus A320 that will receive the US registration N286GX. Delivery of the airplane is scheduled for February 2023.
In a press release, the airline noted that the new aircraft was part of the Alaska Airlines fleet, like three other A320s it currently operates. In that regard, it noted that it features an upgraded passenger cabin and digital connectivity.
GlobalX fleet expansion
The addition of the new aircraft is part of GlobalX’s ongoing fleet expansion process.
A new 210-seat Airbus A321, registered as N285GX, arrived at Miami International Airport (MIA) on 10 December. In addition, the company expects its first freighter, an A321PCF (Precision Conversions Freighter), to receive the necessary approval from the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and begin operations soon, which would mean the inauguration of its air cargo services.
The company currently operates a fleet of Airbus A320 family aircraft and offers air charter and ACMI (aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance leasing to other operators) services. It has a presence in the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean, and European markets.
