    Iberojet resumes its seasonal routes Madrid (MAD) – San José del Cabo (SJD) and Barcelona (BCN) – Cancun (CUN), both starting at the end of June, 2023. Mexico is the Spanish leisure airline’s most important transatlantic market.

    According to data compiled by Aviacionline through Cirium, the Grupo Ávoris airline will have 5,872 seats per week between Mexico and Spain by July 2023. It is also the only Spanish airline offering non-stop services to the Mexican Pacific.

    Iberojet has moved 138,111 passengers and 1,485.7 tons of cargo in the period January – October 2022 between Spain and Mexico and is the third largest airline operator in the market, behind Iberia and Aeromexico. The company focuses its operations on leisure destinations in the Aztec country.

    Flight schedule

    San José del Cabo

    Starts on June 26, 2023.

    • Madrid – San José del Cabo Flight E9 861 MAD 16:30 – SJD 20:35 Monday.
    • San José del Cabo – Madrid Flight E9 862 SJD 22:35 – MAD 17:50+1 Monday.

    The route will be operated on Airbus A350-900 aircraft with a capacity of 432 passengers in single configuration and promotional fares are available from EUR 319 each way.

    This year between Madrid (MAD) and San Jose del Cabo (SJD), 5,293 passengers and 105 kilograms of cargo were carried in 16 operations.

    Cancun

    Starts on June 29, 2023.

    • Barcelona – Cancun Flight E9 845 BCN 12:05 – CUN 16:35 Thursday.
    • Cancun – Barcelona Flight E9 846 CUN 18:35 – BCN 17:50+1 Thursday.

    The route will be operated in an Airbus A330 leased from Wamos Air and promotional fares are available from EUR 343 each way.

    The company is once again scheduling flights from El Prat Airport (BCN), thus reinforcing the intercontinental offer from Catalonia. This year between Barcelona (BCN) and Cancun (CUN), 19,891 passengers and 68.9 tons of cargo were handled in 71 operations.

    Spain is Mexico’s main European market, with a large demand for leisure, business and VFR (visiting friends and relatives) passengers. Between January and October 2022, 1,247,697 passengers have been mobilized with a 80.07% average load factor in 4,654 flights. Iberojet has a 7.3% share of the market and is the fourth largest airline operator in this segment.
