ITA Airways schedules flights to San Francisco and Washington-Dulles

ITA Airways has put on sale on its website its new services to San Francisco (SFO) and Washington – Dulles (IAD) for the summer season 2023. Next year, the Italian flag carrier will offer six destinations in the United States, strengthening the connectivity of its most important intercontinental market.

Currently, the company’s North American network reaches New York (JFK), Boston (BOS), Miami (MIA) and Los Angeles (LAX). The company expects to receive almost forty new aircraft next year, with which it will increase its offer of seats and destinations.

Washington – Dulles (IAD)

Starts June 2, 2023.

  • Rome – Washington Flight AZ 618 FCO 10:20 – IAD 14:20 daily flights.
  • Washington – Rome Flight AZ 619 IAD 16:20 – FCO 07:05+1 daily flights.

The route will be operated on Airbus A330-200 aircraft seating 256 passengers in three classes (20 Business Class/17 Premium Economy/219 Economy) and promotional fares are available from EUR 339 each way.

The last service by an Italian airline to the U.S. capital was on March 14, 2020. According to data compiled by Aviacionline through the National Entity for Civil Aviation (ENAC) 166,179 passengers were mobilized in 2019 between Rome – Fiumicino (FCO) and Washington – Dulles (IAD), it was the ninth busiest route between the Italian capital and the United States.

San Francisco (SFO)

Starts on July 1, 2023.

  • Rome – San Francisco Flight AZ 640 FCO 09:35 – SFO 13:15 Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
  • San Francisco – Rome Flight AZ 641 SFO 15:15 – FCO 12:15+1 Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

The route will be operated on Airbus A350-900 aircraft seating 334 passengers in two classes (33 Business Class/301 Economy) and promotional fares are available from EUR 591 each way.

This new service will be the company’s second to the West Coast of the United States, complemented by Los Angeles (LAX). The last operation between Rome and San Francisco was in 2001.
