Scandinavian Airlines expands its operation to the United States with two new services to Newark (EWR) from Gothenburg (GOT) and Aalborg (AAL). By the next summer, the carrier will connect New York with five Scandinavian cities.

“As part of SAS’ strategy to strengthen the regional offering in Scandinavia, we are pleased to add intercontinental routes from Gothenburg and Aalborg. We see a demand from secondary cities and are delighted to connect even more parts of the world. The Airbus A321 Long Range is a slightly smaller and perfectly sized long-haul aircraft to serve regional markets,” said Erik Westman, EVP & CCO, Network and Revenue Management.

Gothenburg and Aalborg offer a wide range of activities for tourists, as well as being home to several transnational companies, making these new services relevant for corporate and leisure passengers.
