Korean Air continues to restore its European network: from April 25 it will reactivate the Seoul/Incheon (ICN) and Madrid (MAD) route, the company’s second destination in Spain. The airline’s last service to the Spanish capital was on March 15, 2020, operations were suspended as a consequence of the pandemic crisis.
According to data obtained by Aviacionline through AirPortal aviation statistics, 85,638 passengers and 5,095 tons of cargo were mobilized in 2019 between Incheon International Airport (ICN) and Adolfo Suarez International Airport (MAD) in 373 operations, Korean Air was the only operator to operate this route.
The Korean company will have in May an offer of 3,766 weekly seats between South Korea and Spain, a capacity recovery of 87.5% when compared to 2019 levels, making the carrier the largest operator in this market.
Flight schedule
- Seoul/Incheon – Madrid Flight KE 913 ICN 11:35 – MAD 18:00 Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
- Madrid – Seoul/Incheon Flight KE 914 MAD 20:00 – ICN 15:55+1 Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
The route will be operated on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft with a capacity of 269 seats in two classes (24 Business Class/245 Economy) and promotional fares are available from USD 1,440 round trip.
According to data compiled through Aena Estadísticas, Korean Air in Spain moved 187,486 passengers and 27,141.6 tons of cargo in 2019 through 1,054 operations. Currently, the company offers three weekly flights between Seoul (ICN) and Barcelona (BCN), this service for the summer season will increase to four operations a week.
Korean Air’s current European network offers services to Paris (CDG), London – Heathrow (LHR), Frankfurt (FRA), Amsterdam (AMS), Vienna (VIE), Milan – Malpensa (MXP), Barcelona (BCN), Rome (FCO), Budapest (BUD) and will resume services to Prague (PRG), Zurich (ZRH), Istanbul (IST) and Madrid (MAD) in the coming months. The company has suspended operations to Russia and Croatia.
