Airbus Helicopters, the helicopter development and production division of the European aircraft manufacturer, reported today that it received a total of 374 orders (362 net orders) and delivered 344 aircraft in 2022, six more than during the previous year.

In a press release, the company assessed the final annual result and said its products accounted for a 52% share of the civil and parapublic helicopter market. Financial results for the year will be published on 16 February.

Bruno Even, CEO of Airbus Helicopters, said that in 2022 the company «solidified its recovery, in a context of instability with the war in Ukraine and a fragile supply chain». «I would like to thank our customers for their continued trust», he added.

«Our orders came from 203 customers in 48 countries, underlining the importance of our global network as well as showing that in uncertain times, the role of helicopters is more essential than ever», Even stressed.

Main milestones highlighted by Airbus Helicopters

In July, Airbus Helicopters delivered the first ACH160s to a Brazilian customer. The aircraft crossed the Atlantic aboard an A300-600ST, known as «Beluga», in the airplane’s first operation to Latin America.

Shortly thereafter, All Nippon Helicopter’s H160 entered service in Japan and the French Navy took delivery of the first unit of the model, intended for search and rescue (SAR) operations. In October, Airbus Helicopters delivered the first H135s to the Ministry of the Interior of Spain, which had placed an order ten months earlier.

In addition, important support and service agreements were concluded for civil and military operators. Among these, the company highlighted NHIndustries’ contract with NAHEMA for NH90s in France and Germany and a follow-on agreement with the U.S. Army for more than 480 UH-72A and UH-72B Lakota helicopters.
