Spanish airline Binter, based in the Canary Islands, announced on Tuesday that it will increase its flight offer and capacity between 17 and 22 February, to celebrate the traditional carnivals of the archipelago, one of the oldest and most representative festivals in Spain.
According to a press release from the company, during those five days it will have more than 200 additional services, which are already being marketed through the official sales channels. In total, it will operate nearly 1.200 flights and will offer 86.856 seats; that is, 15.408 additional seats.
Of the total number of extra seats available, most of them, 11.952 seats, correspond to air connections to the island of La Palma, where every year the Los Indianos festival is held, which commemorates the migration of islanders to Cuba and the historical ties with the Caribbean country.
Tuesday 21 February, the day after the commemoration and coinciding with Shrove Tuesday, will be the day with the largest number of flights and seats on offer. Binter will have 41 additional services and more than 5.900 extra seats.
Moreover, 3.168 additional seats will be available on flights to Santa Cruz de Tenerife, where every February one of the most traditional and popular carnivals in the world is celebrated.
