Delta will have flights to New Zealand

Delta will be landing in New Zealand on October 28,2023 with daily nonstop service between Los Angeles (LAX) and Auckland (AKL). The airline will have three South Pacific destinations from its main transpacific hub.

The new route will be operated on Airbus A350-900 aircraft and will be the only U.S. carrier in this sector where it will compete with Air New Zealand. During the 2022/2023 summer season, the airline strengthened its South Pacific operation, increasing its services to Sydney (SYD) from daily flights to ten weekly operations and a new nonstop service to Papeete, Tahiti (PPT) with three weekly flights on Boeing 767-300ERs.

“LAX continues to expand its global network of destinations connecting Angelenos to all corners of the world, and Delta’s addition of nonstop service from Los Angeles to New Zealand is in sync with the airline’s commitment to expand and enhance service to our region.” said Justin Erbacci, chief executive officer of Los Angeles World Airports.

“Along with Delta’s international additions to Sydney and Tahiti, this is another exciting result of the continued strong partnership between LAX and Delta Air Lines as we connect more people throughout the Pacific and beyond,” Erbacci added.

Beginning March 9, Delta will increase its services between Los Angeles (LAX) and Tokyo – Haneda (HND) from five weekly operations to daily flights on Airbus A330-900neo, by next fall the carrier will have four trans-Pacific services from LAX.

The Atlanta-based airline continues to invest in an enhanced airport experience at LAX with Terminal 3 renovations and by 2024 the opening of the first Delta One Club.

Delta operates more than 150 daily flights from Los Angeles (LAX) to 53 destinations worldwide as the airport’s leading premium global carrier.
