The program is an assessment system that analyzes an airline’s operational management and control. IOSA uses internationally recognized auditing principles and is designed to perform a standardized analysis of airline operations. It was created in 2003. Companies are included in the registry for a period of 2 years, after which they must renew their certification.

Ed Wegel, President and CEO of GlobalX, said of this accreditation, «Receiving our IOSA certification means that both our passengers and our airline partners can be assured that GlobalX’s personnel, processes, and procedures meet the highest safety standards in the world. We believe this certification will open up new markets and opportunities for us.»
