On January 30 Qantas resumed non-stop services between Sydney (SYD) and Hong Kong (HKG), after a suspension of almost three years because of the health restrictions caused by the pandemic. The Australian carrier continues to re-establish its Asia-Pacific network as demand for travel increases.
Flight QF 127 was operated on an Airbus A330 registered VH-QPF and named «Esperance», which took off from Kingsford Smith International Airport (SYD) at 10:51 local time and landed at Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) at 16:23, after eight hours and 32 minutes.
Initially, Qantas will operate this route three times a week and will have a weekly seat offering of 1,782 seats according to Cirium, the service will then increase to daily flights operated on Airbus A330-200s and A330-300s from February 27, 2023. The Australian airline is scheduled to reactivate the Melbourne (MEL) – Hong Kong (HKG) route with daily A330-300 operations from March 26, 2023.

- Hong Kong – Sydney Flight QF 128 HKG 18:20 – SYD 06:40+1 Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
The route is operated on Airbus A330-300 aircraft with a capacity of 297 seats in two classes (28 Business Class/260 Economy) and promotional fares are available from USD 1,178 round trip.
According to data compiled by Aviacionline through the Australian Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Cities and Regional Development, 1,231,958 passengers and 52,897.7 tons of cargo were moved in the June 2018-2019 period between Sydney (SYD) and Hong Kong (HKG).
Currently, Qantas‘ Asia – Pacific destination network offers non-stop services to Bangkok (BKK), Bangalore (BLR), Jakarta (CGK), Delhi (DEL), Denpasar – Bali (DPS), Tokyo – Haneda (HND), Seoul – Incheon (ICN), Singapore (SIN) and Hong Kong (HKG).
