STARLUX Airlines schedules its first transpacific route with a non-stop service between Taipei (TPE) and Los Angeles (LAX) starting April 26, 2023. For the first time, the airline will fly to North America.
Initially, the carrier will offer five weekly operations (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday) and from June the service will increase to daily flights, providing an offer of 4,284 seats per week.
STARLUX will be the third airline operator on the Taipei (TPE) – Los Angeles (LAX) route and will have a 17.24% market share: in this segment the company competes with EVA Air and China Airlines. In addition, the airline will be the only area carrier in Taiwan to offer First Class on intercontinental flights.
Previously, the company had planned to start operations in the United States in June 2022, but due to health restrictions due to the pandemic it delayed its plans. During the past year, the airline began recruiting sales and airport operations staff to start flights to Los Angeles (LAX).
