Air Europa is expanding its international short/medium haul network for the 2023 summer season and will offer 65,000 seats on four new routes in Europe and North Africa. Globalia‘s airline will also have an unprecedented non-stop service between the United States and the Dominican Republic.
Starting March 26, the airline will resume nonstop service to Tunisia (TUN) with two flights a week, and from June the service will increase to three weekly operations.
For June of this year, Air Europa will reinforce its offer to Greece from Madrid (MAD) with the reactivation of the route to Athens (ATH) with four flights a week and a new non-stop service to Santorini (JTR) with three weekly operations. These routes will be seasonal and will be available until September.
Globalia’s airline will increase its presence in the Mediterranean with the resumption of its services to Alghero (AHO) with two weekly flights, reinforcing Sardinia’s connectivity with Spain.
All services to Tunis (TUN), Athens (ATH), Santorini (JTR) and Alghero (AHO) will be operated by its Boeing 737-800s with a capacity of 186 seats.
New route between the United States and the Dominican Republic
Air Europa will have a new service between New York (JFK) and Santo Domingo (SDQ) with twice weekly flights operated on Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the route will be available in the period July – September. Previously, the Spanish airline was authorized by the Civil Aviation Board (JAC) to offer scheduled passenger and cargo operations in this segment on a seasonal basis.
According to data obtained by Aviacionline through U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) statistics, 825,107 passengers were mobilized in 2021 between New York (JFK) and Santo Domingo (SDQ), the second busiest route between the United States and the Dominican Republic.
