On March 1 and after three years, Air India resumes operations between Delhi (DEL) and Copenhagen (CPH), with this service Scandinavia is once again connected with non-stop flights to India. The airline suspended its services to the Danish capital in March 2020 because of the COVID-19 health crisis.
Flight AI 157 was operated on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner registered VT-ANV, which took off from Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) at 14:14 local time and landed at Copenhagen-Kastrup Airport (CPH) at 17:38, after seven hours and 54 minutes.
According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Eurostat statistics, 82,214 passengers were mobilized in 2019 between Delhi (DEL) and Copenhagen (CPH), where Air India was the only airline operator. Prior to the pandemic the company’s operations in Scandinavia, offered non-stop services to the Danish capital and Stockholm – Arlanda (ARN), the latter destination remains suspended.

The route will be operated on Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft with 256 seats in two classes (18 Business Class/238 Economy).
According to data compiled through Cirium, Air India will have 20,992 seats per week on offer between Delhi (DEL) and Europe for the summer season, offering non-stop flights to London – Heathrow (LHR), Paris (CDG), Frankfurt (FRA), Birmingham (BHX), Milan – Malpensa (MXP), Vienna (VIE) and Copenhagen (CPH).
