EVA Air adds five additional Boeing 787 Dreamliner to its order book
EVA Air yesterday confirmed the addition of five additional Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft to its order book. This is part of its plan to boost and optimise its services from its Taiwan-Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) base to the rest of Asia, North America and Europe.
In mid-March, the Taiwanese carrier ordered five aircraft of the type, which it expects to take delivery between 2025 and 2027.

«Our 787 fleet has become the foundation of our carbon-neutral growth strategy and we will continue to leverage this airplane’s unrivaled efficiency and performance for many years to come», said Clay Sun, President of EVA Air. «This new order supports our ongoing commitment to operate a more sustainable fleet that will enable us to reduce carbon emissions, while providing our passengers with world-class service», he added.
EVA Air currently operates a fleet of ten Boeing 787 Dreamliner. These include four 787-9 and six 787-10. With the expansion of the order book, it now mantains firm orders for nine 787-9 and seven 787-10. The company is a major customer of the American manufacturer: it also owns 34 Boeing 777-300ER and eight 777-200F cargo aircraft.
The 787-9, the longest-range version of the family, is expected to operate mostly to Europe and North America. For its part, the 787-10 would be used mainly on regional routes in Asia and Oceania.
