airBaltic will have 20 new routes for the summer season 2023

airBaltic has scheduled twenty new routes for the 2023 summer season, from Riga (RIX), Tallinn (TLL), Vilnius (VNO) and Tampere (TMP) to multiple popular European destinations in Italy, Portugal, Spain, Croatia, Greece, France, among others.

This is the largest number of new routes the company has ever announced in its history. The first service between Riga (RIX) and Istanbul (IST) on April 2: all airBaltic flights are operated on its 39 Airbus A220 and four Airbus A320 aircraft that the airline leased to meet strong summer demand.

The opening of these 20 new summer destinations will give our passengers even more choice when it comes to a seamless travel experience. We remain committed to our home cities in the Baltic countries and improving connectivity to and from the region. In addition, we are pleased to expand airBaltic’s offering for this summer season with additional new routes and increased flight frequencies on our existing leisure and city break routes“, said Martin Gauss , President and CEO of airBaltic.

airBaltic will have flights to more than 70 destinations from Riga, Tallinn, Vilnius and Tampere, offering connections to an extensive range of cities in the airline’s route network in Europe and the Middle East.

New routes from Riga, Latvia (RIX)

On RIX, airBaltic is scheduled to offer nearly 500,000 seats per month on more than 3,400 flights for the summer.

  • Istanbul, Turkey (IST): started April 2 with four weekly flights.
  • Hannover, Germany (HAJ): starts April 15 with four flights a week.
  • Bucharest, Romania (OTP): begins May 1 with three weekly flights.
  • Porto, Portugal (OPO): begins May 1 with two flights weekly.
  • Burgas, Bulgaria (BOJ): begins May 2 with two flights weekly.
  • Bilbao, Spain (BIO): begins May 4 with twice-weekly flights.
  • Tivat, Montenegro (TIV): begins May 4 with two flights weekly.
  • Yerevan, Armenia (EVE): begins May 16 with two flights weekly.
  • Belgrade, Serbia (BEG): begins May 16 with two flights weekly.
  • Baku, Azerbaijan (GYD): starts May 17 with two weekly flights.

airBaltic RIX

New routes from Tallinn, Estonia (TLL)

At TLL, the airline will offer more than 100,000 seats per month on nearly 730 flights for the summer season.

  • Split, Croatia (SPU): starts May 1.
  • Rhodes, Greece (RHO): begins May 1.
  • Dubrovnik, Croatia (DBV): begins May 2.
  • Heraklion, Greece (HER): begins May 3.

All routes will have twice weekly flights.

airBaltic TLL

New routes from Vilnius, Lithuania (VNO)

At VNO, the company will have a capacity of nearly 85,000 seats per month on more than 570 flights for the summer season.

  • Malaga, Spain (AGP): starts May 2.
  • Palma de Mallorca, Spain (PMI): starts May 2.
  • Nice, France (NCE): begins May 3.
  • Heraklion, Greece (HER): begins May 4.

All routes will have twice weekly flights.

New routes from Tampere, Finland (TMP)

At TMP, the airline has scheduled an offer of more than 28,000 seats per month on nearly 200 flights for the northern summer.

  • Nice, France (NCE): initial May 2.
  • Milan, Italy (MXp): starts May 4.

All routes will have twice-weekly flights.
