On April 16, Qantas began non-stop services between Melbourne (MEL) and Jakarta (CGK): this route will complement the airline’s daily operations from Sydney (SYD). The carrier will provide customers with nearly 300,000 seats annually between the Indonesian capital and Australia and a schedule of 10 weekly flights, more than any other carrier.

Flight QF 39 was operated on an Airbus A330 registered VH-EBQ and named «Wolgan Valley,» which took off from Tullamarine International Airport (MEL) at 16:47 local time and landed at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) at 20:18, after six hours and 32 minutes.
According to data obtained by Aviacionline through the Australian Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Cities and Regional Development, in the period June 2018 – June 2019, 81.010 passengers and 1.921,7 tons of cargo were moved between Melbourne (MEL) and Jakarta (CGK).

The Indonesian capital is the airline’s fourth international service to Melbourne (MEL) since the reopening of Australia’s international borders. Last month, Qantas began an unprecedented flight to Tokyo – Haneda (HND) from the Victorian capital.
Melbourne – Jakarta flight schedule
- Melbourne – Jakarta Flight QF 39 MEL 15:10 – CGK 19:15 Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
- Jakarta – Melbourne Flight QF 40 CGK 21:00 – MEL 06:40+1 Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
The route is operated by Airbus A330-200 aircraft with a capacity of 255 seats in two classes (27 Business Class/228 Economy). In addition to its operations to Jakarta (CGK), the airline also offers non-stop services to Denpasar (DPS) from Melbourne (MEL). In total, Qantas Group operates 106 round-trip flights per week between Australia and Indonesia.
