Avianca Among the World’s Most Punctual Airlines, Says Cirium Report
Avianca has once again been acknowledged for its punctuality, securing the fourth spot in the ranking of the world’s most punctual airlines, according to a report published by the aviation data firm Cirium.
The ranking, which evaluates airlines operating in various countries, is based on three primary indicators: punctuality, operational complexity, and ability to minimize disruptions caused by flight adjustments. Avianca recorded a remarkable On Time Performance (OTP) rate of 85%, analyzing a total of 16,991 flights.
Cirium report is based on indicators of punctuality, operational complexity, and the airline’s ability to minimize the impact of flight adjustments on its passengers. Punctuality analysis focuses on the flight’s arrival at the boarding gate within 15 minutes of the scheduled time.
Avianca, with over 103 years of continuous operation, is the leading airline in Colombia, Ecuador, and Central America. With a fleet of over 130 Airbus 320 and Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, it offers more than 130 routes and 3,800 weekly flights, connecting nearly 70 destinations in over 24 countries across America and Europe. In 2022, Avianca transported more than 24.6 million passengers in over 187,000 flights.
