Caribbean Airlines has reestablished non-stop flights to Venezuela, restarting the Port of Spain (POS) – Caracas (CCS) route. The company’s last regular operation on this service was on March 28, 2020.
A ceremony commemorating the inaugural flight took place at the Caribbean Club Lounge in Piarco, Trinidad. Attendees included Alvaro Sanchez Cordero, Venezuelan Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago, Garvin Medera, CEO of Caribbean Airlines, airline staff, and local media.
Flight BW 300 was flown using an ATR 72-600 aircraft, with registration 9Y-TTD. It departed from Piarco International Airport (POS) at 08:09 local time, landing at Simon Bolivar International Airport (CCS) at 09:45, after one hour and 36 minutes in the air.
