JSX, the Dallas-based air travel provider, is expanding its by-the-seat private jet service to Nashville and Westchester County Airport, located north of New York City. The service offers passengers the benefits of private terminals, avoiding crowds, and security lines while also saving time.
JSX’s first flights to Nashville will start on June 22, 2023. The Texas and New York flights operate twice a day, while Florida operates on Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with a single service in each direction. With the addition of these new services, JSX will compete head-to-head with Southwest Airlines on the Nashville-Dallas route.
Alex Wilcox, the CEO of JSX, stated in a press release that «Nashville is a natural fit for the seamless, elevated experience JSX brings to air travel. For residents of the Music City and those headed there, our hop-on jet service is the perfect way to get out of the airport and into the action without undue stress this busy summer season and beyond.”
Semi-Private Life
Unlike traditional private jet charter flights, memberships, and jet cards, passengers don’t have to reserve the entire airplane. Instead, they can buy seats, which start under $200 and can be over $1,000 one-way for longer flights.
The flights operate on a published schedule, so passengers do not get to decide when they want to fly. However, they can check-in up to 20 minutes before departure. JSX is expanding its services with nonstop flights to Westchester, Dallas Love Field, and Destin, Florida, the latter being a seasonal route.
JSX’s 30-seat Embraer 135 and 145 regional jets offer fewer seats and more legroom compared to traditional airlines. The airline also provides free snacks, beverages, and checked luggage, and is pet-friendly.
The company is currently rolling out free Starlink’s high-speed WiFi across its fleet. According to the announcement, JSX currently owns 77 of the 30-seat Embraer jets, of which 40 are now in service.
JSX is competing with a handful of other providers trying to create a new category between traditional private jet charter flights and scheduled airline services. Vista Global’s XO, Set Jet, Aero, and Tradewind Aviation are some of the other providers offering similar services in different regions. Miami-based Fleet Clubs and Zed Aerospace have also announced their intent to start similar services but have faced multiple delays.
