Korean Air Revitalizes Paris – Seoul Route with the Introduction of the Boeing 747-8i

On May 22, Korean Air initiated daily flights with the Boeing 747-8i on the Paris – Seoul / Incheon route, replacing the Boeing 777-300ER operation. The airline last operated “The Queen of the Skies” in the French capital on September 28, 2019.

Korean Air to Introduce In-flight Wi-Fi Service for the First Time from June 1

The first service was flight KE 901 operated on a Boeing 747 registered as HL 7642 and with a 6-year service record. The aircraft departed from the Incheon International Airport (ICN) at 12:06 local time and arrived at the Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) at 18:35, after thirteen hours and 29 minutes.

In addition, Korean Air will increase its operations to the French capital from 7 to 8 weekly flights starting June 6, 2023, and will offer 5,706 seats per week, representing a 47% increase in capacity compared to the previous month. Paris is the carrier’s top destination in Europe in terms of available seat kilometers (ASK) according to Cirium.

Seoul / Incheon (ICN) – Paris (CDG)

  • Flight KE 901 ICN 12:20 – CDG 18:30 daily flights operated by Boeing 747-8i.
  • Flight KE 8901 ICN 17:50 – CDG 12:40+1 once a week (Tuesday) operated by Boeing 777-300ER.

Paris (CDG) – Seoul / Incheon (ICN)

  • Flight KE 902 CDG 21:00 – ICN 15:45+1 daily flights operated by Boeing 747-8i.
  • Flight KE 8902 CDG 17:50 – ICN 12:40+1 once a week (Tuesday) operated by Boeing 777-300ER.

Service Details

  • Flights KE 8901/KE 8902 will be available until September 26, 2023.
  • Korean Air’s Boeing 747-8i has a 368-passenger configuration in three classes (6 Kosmos Suites 2.0/48 Prestige Suites/314 Economy).
  • The Boeing 747-8i service will be available year-round.
  • Promotional fares to fly on the Boeing 747-8i are available from USD 1,500 roundtrip.

According to data obtained by Aviacionline through AirPortal statistics, 685,973 passengers and 40,835 tons of cargo were transported between Seoul / Incheon and Paris in 2019 on 2,173 flights. The French capital was the second busiest destination between South Korea and Europe, surpassed only by Frankfurt.

Korean Air’s European network offers regular passenger services to Amsterdam, Barcelona, Budapest, Paris, Rome, Frankfurt, Istanbul, London – Heathrow, Madrid, Milan, Prague, Vienna, Zurich and charter flights to Marseille.
