On the afternoon of Saturday, May 27, the Argentine Air Force issued a statement in which it distanced itself from the operation of the presidential plane Argentina 01, involved in a controversy due to the low pass it made before landing at the Jorge Newbery Airport, at the end of its delivery flight.
The force responded to a journalistic article that indicated that the plane operates under a military registration, and that due to this condition it would not be liable for sanctions in the event of an investigation by the National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC).
This article also places the fleet of the Presidential Air Group under the orbit of the Ministry of Defense, when in reality the planes assigned to VVIP transport depend on the General Secretariat, according to what is indicated by the Decree 648/2004.
The six aircraft that make up the Air Group (ARG-01 to 03 and helicopters H-01 to 03) have a civil registration, and the Air Force also stated that the crews assigned to the operation of these units also have a civil license.

The aircraft, acquired from C&L Aerospace through a 10-year loan for 22 million dollars and the transfer of the old Boeing 757 Tango 01 for an estimated value of 3 million, arrived in the country and after the pass, landed at the Metropolitan Aeropark, where it remains on the platform corresponding to the Aeroparque Military Air Station, located on the opposite side of the commercial platform, near the head of runway 31.
