Dominican airline Sky High inaugurated its flights between Santo Domingo’s Las Américas International Airport (SDQ) and Providence’s T.F. Green International Airport (PVD) on Monday 15 May.
Although it had initially announced that it would begin operating between the two airports in mid-December, the launch of services was delayed until this week. Sky High will maintain a schedule of three flights a week in both directions (on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) with Embraer E190 aircraft.

Sky High becomes the only foreign airline at Providence
With the start of flights, Sky High became the only airline to offer connections between Santo Domingo and Providence, as well as the only foreign operator in this city in the state of Rhode Island. As a result, customers now have a new transportation option between New England and the Caribbean.
Currently, airlines from the United States lead the way on routes between that region of the country and the Dominican Republic. JetBlue is the major operator, offering flights from Boston-Logan (BOS) to Santo Domingo (SDQ), Punta Cana (PUJ), Santiago de los Caballeros (STI) and Puerto Plata (POP).
Santo Domingo hub gets a boost
Sky High’s new route is part of its plan to boost its hub at Las Américas International Airport. During the upcoming northern summer it will add three new destinations compared to the 2022 summer season and offer more flights on most of its routes. The company’s new schedule aims to provide quick stopovers, primarily to and from the United States.
