Air Canada is expanding its transpacific operations from Vancouver with new nonstop service to Singapore – Changi. This is the second Southeast Asian destination in the carrier’s network, after inaugurating flights to Bangkok in December 2022.
«We are committed to growing YVR as a leading trans-Pacific hub, and Singapore is a premier global financial center, a multicultural destination offering abundant tourism and dining experiences, as well as an important gateway to other destinations in Southeast Asia, South India and Western Australia«, said Mark Galardo, Air Canada’s Executive Vice President, Revenue and Network Planning, said in a statement.
The airline will offer 2,384 seats per week on this route and will be the only carrier to offer non-stop service between Vancouver and Changi Airport, after Singapore Airlines announced it will cease operations on this segment from the end of October 2023.
Each new international service at Vancouver Airport generates C$36 million for British Columbia and creates more than 320 jobs for the province. Recently, Air Canada announced a new route to Dubai for October, due to the codeshare partnership with Emirates and the expansion of the bilateral agreement between Canada and the United Arab Emirates.
Air Canada’s flight schedule to Singapore
Starts April 3, 2024.

The route will be operated on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft with a capacity of 298 seats in three classes (30 Signature Class/21 Premium Economy/247 Economy) and promotional fares start at USD 1,447 each way.
This new operation gives passengers the ability to connect to Air Canada’s North American network through its transpacific hub in Vancouver. Additionally, in Singapore travelers have access to multiple destinations in Southeast Asia, South India and Western Australia through Star Alliance carriers and the codeshare partnership with Singapore Airlines.
The Canadian flag carrier’s trans-Pacific network from Vancouver has non-stop service to Auckland, Brisbane, Bangkok, Dubai, Hong Kong, Seoul – Incheon, Osaka – Kansai, Tokyo – Narita, Shanghai – Pudong and Sydney.
«The new non-stop service will further develop YVR as a diverse global hub, providing direct access to several major markets across the Indo-Pacific, which directly supports diversified trade and investment opportunities that benefit our local economy«, said Tamara Vrooman, President and CEO of the Vancouver Airport Authority.
With the new Air Canada service, Changi Airport by the 2024 summer season will have non-stop North American service to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle – Tacoma, New York JFK, Newark and Vancouver.
