Dan Air, the Romanian airline launched in June 2023, strategically emphasizes its flights to the city of Brașov (GHV) with a secondary operation in Bucharest/Otopeni (OTP) to meet the growing tourist market in the region. Offering scheduled flights to some of the main European markets, the airline provides tourists with a convenient gateway to explore Romania’s landscapes.
Dan Air’s flight schedule revolves around its two main bases. Leveraging the popularity of Brașov as a winter tourist hub, the airline’s regular services connect to Germany, Belgium, Spain, Italy, and the United Kingdom. These weekly flights allow tourists to enjoy a seven-day stay in Romania, taking advantage of the country’s various offerings.
However, due to operational restrictions in Brașov, flights are occasionally combined with departures from Bucharest. According to Romanian media Boarding Pass, the airline cannot operate between 19:00 and 07:00.
Therefore, the itinerary of their routes is structured in this way:
- From Bucharest/Otopeni (OTP):
- Munich (MUC), Germany / Wednesday.
- Nuremberg (NUE), Germany / Monday and Thursday.
- Stuttgart (STR), Germany / Thursday.
- Brussels (BRU), Belgium / Wednesday.
- Barcelona (BCN), Spain / Tuesday.
- Madrid (MAD), Spain / Saturdays.
- Málaga (AGP), Spain / Sunday.
- Valencia (VLC), Spain / Tuesday.
- London/Gatwick (LGW), United Kingdom / Friday.
- From Brașov (GHV):
- Munich (MUC), Germany / Wednesday.
- Nuremberg (NUE), Germany / Monday and Thursday.
- Stuttgart (STR), Germany / Thursday.
- Brussels (BRU), Belgium / Wednesday.
- Barcelona (BCN), Spain/ Tuesday.
- Madrid (MAD), Spain / Saturdays.
- Málaga (AGP), Spain / Sunday.
- Valencia (VLC), Spain / Tuesday.
- Rome/Fiumicino (FCO), Italy / Monday.
Dan Air and its journey in Romania
Dan Air includes both hand luggage and checked baggage in its fares, along with onboard service. Currently, it operates with a fleet composed of three Airbus A320ceo and one Airbus A319ceo, the latter through wet-leasing with Air Serbia.
Although Dan Air began its scheduled operations in June 2023, its journey began in 2018 as Just Us Air. In 2021, the company underwent a rebranding and emerged as Dan Air. It previously operated as an ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) provider.
The company continues its ACMI business, serving airlines such as Air Serbia, Transavia, and Wizz Air, among others.
