The organizers of the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) announced that the Boeing 737-700 (T-99 “Islas Malvinas”) of the Argentine Air Force will no longer participate in the show.

In May, RIAT organizers were excited to report that the Argentine Air Force (FAA) T-99 “Islas Malvinas” transport aircraft would be present in the show’s static display, the first participation of a FAA aircraft in this iconic British air show after the Falklands War.

However, in the June 8 update, RIAT reported that the previously announced Argentine Boeing 737 will no longer participate in the Royal International Air Tattoo 2023.

Although the reasons why the FAA’s Boeing 737-700 will not participate in the Royal International Air Tattoo are not specified, there are two possible explanations.

The FAA’s decision to send the T-99 “Islas Malvinas” (which is a statement in itself) may have landed heavily in London.

On the other hand, the participation of an FAA aircraft in the air show of a nation that continues to maintain a blockade on arms exports against Argentina must have caused a major stir within certain national political and military circles.

Be that as it may, what is certain is that no Argentine Air Force aircraft will make an appearance at the Royal International Air Tattoo 2023.
