United Airlines Launches Non-Stop Service between New York/Newark and Malaga

On May 31, United Airlines inaugurated a new non-stop service between New York/Newark and Malaga. By the summer season of 2023, the U.S. airline will establish eight routes between the United States and Spain.

United Airlines: New Nonstop Service Between Washington and Berlin

Flight UA 350, operated on a Boeing 757 registered as N19117, aged 27, departed Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) at 18:15 local time and arrived at Malaga – Costa del Sol International Airport (AGP) at 07:25 the following day, after seven hours and ten minutes.

The previous non-stop connection between New York and Malaga was on September 3, 2019, with a daily Delta Air Lines service operated on Boeing 757s. Currently, United is the second airline to offer transatlantic flights at Malaga – Costa del Sol Airport, supplementing Air Transat’s route from Montreal – Trudeau.

  • New York/Newark – Malaga Flight UA 350: EWR 17:55 – AGP 07:35+1, operating Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
  • Malaga – New York/Newark Flight UA 351: AGP 09:40 – EWR 12:15, operating Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

  • The service is seasonal and the last flight will depart on September 28.

The route is serviced by Boeing 757-200 aircraft with a capacity of 169 seats in two classes (16 Business Class/153 Economy), and promotional fares are available from USD 632 round trip.
United is the North American carrier offering the most destinations in Spain with a total of five, and it is the only U.S. carrier to fly to Palma de Mallorca, Tenerife – South, and Malaga. In its continued expansion across the Atlantic, the company also launched non-stop service between Chicago and Barcelona on May 25, with daily flights operated by Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.

According to information obtained by Aviacionline through Cirium, United Airlines transported 468,720 passengers and 10,153.2 tons of cargo between Spain and the United States in 2022 through 2,182 operations.

  • Washington – Dulles: daily flights on Boeing 767-400ER.

  • Chicago O’Hare: daily flights on Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.
  • Newark: daily flights on Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner.
  • Washington – Dulles: daily flights on Boeing 777-200ER.
Palma de Mallorca
  • Newark: three flights a week on Boeing 767-300ER.
Tenerife – South
  • Newark: three flights a week on Boeing 757-200.
Malaga
  • Newark: three flights a week on Boeing 757-200.
