Volaris and Viva Aerobus recently received a new Airbus A321neo each straight from the Airbus production plant in Hamburg. On June 9, the aircraft registered as XA-VUA arrived at Mexico City International Airport (MEX) for Volaris, while the next day the A321neo registered as XA-VXK arrived at Monterrey Airport (MTY) for Viva Aerobus.

CDB Aviation announced on its LinkedIn account the delivery of another Airbus A321neo to Volaris, thus completing two units delivered to the Mexican company. The aircraft leasing company is expected to deliver five additional aircraft between 2023 and 2024: three A321neos and two A320neos.

Luís da Silva, Commercial Head of CDB Aviation Americas, said, “We are pleased to celebrate another delivery of a GTF engine A321neo from our order book. With the latest technologies enhancing efficiency and sustainability, this aircraft is ideal for strengthening Volaris’ leading position in the market.”

Volaris’ new A321 has the capacity to carry up to 239 passengers and features Airbus’ flexible cabin. Pratt & Whitney engines were selected by the company to power its Airbus aircraft fleet.

Currently, Volaris’ fleet consists of 115 aircraft from the European manufacturer, including 40 A320ceo, 45 A320neo, 10 A321ceo, and 19 A321neo.

Viva Aerobus received a new Airbus A321neo at its base at Monterrey Airport (MTY) on June 10. This aircraft joins the low-cost airline’s fleet. The aircraft was delivered directly from the Airbus plant in Hamburg, making two intermediate stops in Keflavik, Iceland (KEF) and Bangor, USA (BGR).

The new member of the Viva Aerobus aircraft family has the capacity to carry up to 240 passengers and is powered by Pratt & Whitney engines.

Currently, Viva Aerobus’ fleet comprises 72 Airbus aircraft, including 22 A320ceo, 20 A320neo, 9 A321ceo, and 21 A321neo.
