Edelweiss strengthens its short- and medium-haul flights for winter 2023/2024

Edelweiss will boost its offering of popular and in-demand holiday destinations for the winter season. The Lufthansa Group’s leisure airline will provide customers with multiple travel options to beach destinations, cultural excursions and snow.

In Egypt, the carrier will fly daily to Hurghada, and even twice daily on weekends. Luxor and Marsa Alam will have two and three weekly flights respectively. The number of flights to Sharm El Sheikh will double four times a week. In total, the airline will have a schedule of 23 weekly flights between Switzerland and Egypt.

Holiday destinations for golfers, hikers and leisure travelers

Spain is one of the most popular destinations during the cold months, with many tourists looking to practice sports or enjoy the local culture. Edelweiss will boost its services to the Canary Islands next winter and will fly daily to Tenerife and Gran Canaria, and even twice daily on weekends.

Fuerteventura will have four flights a week, Lanzarote three flights a week and La Palma two flights a week. The offer to Mallorca will increase with two additional services, up to five times a week. Seville will have a schedule of four flights a week during the winter. In Portugal, the airline will fly to Faro three times a week.

Holiday destinations in Morocco will be boosted with additional capacity for the 2023/2024 winter schedule, with a new service without to Agadir starting in February. Edelweiss will fly six times weekly to Marrakech and twice weekly to Agadir throughout the winter. In Cyprus, the leisure airline will operate daily to Larnaca.

More snow destinations on offer

The company will strengthen its operations in snow destinations during the winter, providing customers with a wide range of travel options and the option of various winter activities and natural spectacles. Due to strong demand, the airline is expanding its services in Norway by flying to Tromsø and Bergen up to three and two times a week respectively.

In Iceland, the route to Reykjavík/Keflavik will have three flights a week and Edinburgh (UK) will have four flights a week.

A winter of recovery against COVID

The long-haul schedule for the 2023/2024 winter season includes new holiday destinations in Colombia (Bogota and Cartagena) and increased offerings in the United States, Thailand and South Africa. The full schedule for next winter includes 57 vacation destinations in 32 countries (short, medium and long-haul).
