Virgin Atlantic completes authorization process to operate flights to Brazil
One of England’s largest airlines, Virgin Atlantic, has been authorized by the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) to operate flights to and from Brazil. The company will have direct flights between Sao Paulo and London, as reported by AEROIN.
It will be another airline to operate in Brazil, increasing competition among other carriers. Virgin is expected to start operating effectively in May 2024 with daily flights.

Last week, another international low-cost airline, Arajet, from the Dominican Republic, was also authorized to fly in Brazil. It will operate three weekly flights from Santo Domingo to Sao Paulo’s Guarulhos International Airport.
ANAC is evaluating three other requests for authorization from companies wishing to operate in Brazil: two for passenger transport and one for cargo transport. Currently, there are 33 foreign airlines authorized to operate scheduled commercial flights in the country.
